Baby Júlia

[pt] Nunca referi, aqui no blog, umas sessões que realizei a uma amiga que estava grávida acompanhando-a assim até ao nascimento da sua bebé. Porém, alguns de vós devem lembrar-se de algumas fotos que viram no google+ ou facebook. A bebé Júlia já nasceu à algumas semanas e já tive oportunidade de visitá-la embora ela me tenha ignorado completamente ;)

Esta experiência, e oportunidade, surgiu em conversa muito espontaneamente num chá das 5. Apesar de nunca ter realizado este tipo de sessões, tal facto não impediu que tanto eu como a grávida (e marido) nos envolvêssemos neste pequeno projeto. Mês após mês lá nos encontrávamos ao fim-de-semana, mais ou menos bem dispostos, mas fazendo o nosso melhor.

Este casal não só me deu um voto de confiança para fotografar uma etapa da vida deles, que ficará agora bem registada, como o prazer de seguir com eles essa mesma etapa. Mais do que uma experiência e oportunidade isto veio no seguimento de uma lição que aprendi:

Dedicar o meu precioso tempo para estar com aqueles que realmente acreditam em mim, me valorizam e que gostam de estar na minha companhia sem contrapartidas. E, embora fale por mim, as "recompensas" que se ganham quando fazemos algo desinteressadamente não têm preço e duram no tempo.

[en] Never mentioned here some photo shoots I did to a pregnant friend following her until the birth of the baby. However, some of you probably saw some photos of that on google+ or facebook. Baby Júlia has born weeks ago and I already saw her although she has ignored me the all time ;)

This experience, and opportunity, pop up very spontaneously in a conversation at a five o'clock tea. Despite no experience in this kind of photography, that fact was not a barrier for me, the pregnant (and husband) to commit ourselves in this little project. During the weekends, month after month we gathered more or less cheerful but tried to give our best.

This couple not only gave me a vote of confidence to photograph this stage of their lives, now quite documented, as well the pleasure of following that same stage with them. More than a experience and opportunity this came along with a lesson I learned:

Dedicate my precious time to be with those who really believe in me, value me and like to be around me with no counterparts. And, though I speak for myself, the "rewards" you win when doing things without interests behind are priceless and last in time.
